Abstrak

Menurut beberapa penelitian, terdapat pengaruh penggunaan media sosial terhadap partisipasi politik seseorang. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui secara lebih spesifik pengaruh penggunaan media sosial Twitter terhadap partisipasi politik online mahasiswa di Jawa Barat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Dalam penelitian ini, Peneliti menggambarkan apakah penggunaan media sosial Twitter dapat memengaruhi ataupun tidak mempengaruhi partisipasi politik mahasiswa di Jawa Barat. Populasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa aktif yang berada di Jawa Barat. Teknik sampling yang digunakan yakni convenience sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner skala likert (5 poin) yang disebar melalui media sosial sebagai teknik pengumpulan data untuk mengumpulkan data primer. Dari hasil analisis data, diperoleh hasil yakni terdapat pengaruh penggunaan media sosial Twitter terhadap partisipasi politik online mahasiswa di Jawa Barat.
