PERAN BADAN NASIONAL PENANGGULANGAN BENCANA (BNPB) DALAM KESIAPSIAGAAN PADA ZONA MEGATHRUST INDONESIA

Indonesia merupakan negara yang terletak di daerah rawan gempa dan tsunami, terutama di zona megathrust, seperti Selat Sunda dan Mentawai-Siberut. Keberadaan zona megathrust dengan potensi gempa besar memerlukan kesiapsiagaan yang matang guna mengurangi dampak bencana. Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana (BNPB) memiliki peran penting dalam koordinasi dan pelaksanaan kebijakan mitigasi bencana di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran BNPB dalam meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan masyarakat terhadap potensi bencana gempa dan tsunami di zona megathrust Indonesia, serta untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas program-program yang dilaksanakan oleh BNPB dalam menghadapi bencana di wilayah rawan tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi literatur dan analisis data sekunder. Data dikumpulkan melalui tinjauan terhadap dokumen-dokumen kebijakan BNPB, laporan kesiapsiagaan bencana, serta penelitian terkait mitigasi bencana di Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa BNPB telah melakukan berbagai upaya dalam meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan masyarakat, seperti pelaksanaan program edukasi dan simulasi bencana, penyusunan rencana evakuasi, serta penguatan infrastruktur penanggulangan bencana. Namun, masih terdapat tantangan dalam koordinasi antar instansi dan kesadaran masyarakat mengenai mitigasi bencana. BNPB memegang peran penting dalam meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan masyarakat di zona megathrust Indonesia. Walaupun telah ada berbagai inisiatif, perlu adanya peningkatan koordinasi antar lembaga serta peningkatan kesadaran dan partisipasi masyarakat dalam upaya mitigasi bencana. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah perlunya kebijakan yang lebih komprehensif dan dukungan anggaran yang memadai untuk program kesiapsiagaan bencana.
