Peran Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana (BNPB) dalam Kesiapsiagaan pada Zona Megathrust Indonesia

Abstract

Indonesia terletak di daerah rawan gempa dan tsunami, khususnya di zona megathrust seperti Selat Sunda dan Mentawai-Siberut. Potensi gempa besar memerlukan kesiapsiagaan yang matang guna mengurangi dampak bencana. Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana (BNPB) berperan penting dalam koordinasi dan pelaksanaan kebijakan mitigasi bencana di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis peran BNPB dalam meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan masyarakat terhadap potensi gempa dan tsunami di zona megathrust, serta mengevaluasi efektivitas program-programnya. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dan analisis data sekunder melalui tinjauan dokumen kebijakan, laporan kesiapsiagaan, dan penelitian terkait mitigasi bencana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan BNPB telah melakukan berbagai upaya, seperti edukasi, simulasi bencana, penyusunan rencana evakuasi, dan penguatan infrastruktur. Namun, masih terdapat tantangan dalam koordinasi antar instansi dan rendahnya kesadaran masyarakat. BNPB memiliki peran penting dalam meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan masyarakat, tetapi diperlukan peningkatan koordinasi antar lembaga, kesadaran, serta partisipasi masyarakat. Selain itu perlunya kebijakan yang lebih komprehensif dan dukungan anggaran yang memadai untuk program kesiapsiagaan bencana.
