Abstract

Abstract

The Regional Government of Solok City is the only regional government in Indonesia that issues a regional regulation on Government Ethics. However, this regional regulation is still not fully implemented, there are still many officers’ behavior that is not yet in accordance with the Regional Regulation. This condition raises the interest of the author to conduct research to find out how the performance of the Regional Government Ethics Enforcement Commission in implementing the Regional Regulation Number 1 of 2008 concerning the Ethics of Regional Government, the constraints faced and the efforts made by the government to realize good regional governance. The research method used by researchers is descriptive qualitative and inductive approach. Data collection techniques in the form of interviews, documentation and observation to describe the state of the object of research based on facts in the field. While data analysis techniques are carried out by data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and verification. Based on the results of the research it can be concluded that the performance evaluation of the Regional Government Ethics Enforcement Commission in implementing Regional Regulation Number 1 of 2008 in the City of Solok is still not in line with expectations. This happens because the socialization that has not touched all parts of the community and government administrators, the awareness of the apparatus in the implementation of regional regulations on local government ethics in the city of Solok is still low, the limited authority of the regional government ethics commission, and the regional regulations on regional government ethics have not been implemented properly. So that the government’s efforts to improve the performance of the Regional Government Ethics Enforcement Commission in the City of Solok are by increasing socialization to the public and government administrators regarding regional regulations on regional government ethics as well as maximizing the development of apparatus related to local government ethics.
