https://ejournal.ipdn.ac.id/IJOLIB/article/view/4592

Background: The lack of references for practical examples of Knowledge Management (KM) tool applications in libraries can be one of the obstacles to the development of KM tools in non-profit institutions. Therefore, conducting studies is essential to enrich and advance scientific knowledge related to library science and Knowledge Management. Purpose: The study aims to describe KM tools commonly used in both profit and non-profit organizations and review their usage in libraries. Method: This study is a systematic literature review following the PRISMA framework. A total of 31 articles were collected and subsequently analyzed based on their relevance to the research topic. Result: The use of KM tools in organizations is becoming increasingly diverse, incorporating both IT and non-IT approaches. Common types of KM tools used in organizations include social media, websites, the internet, networks, face-to-face interactions, mentoring, and reports. The concept of KM tool usage includes: (1) knowledge strategy, for developing competencies needed in the future; (2) knowledge creation, for problem-solving; (3) knowledge retention, for sharing tacit knowledge; and (4) knowledge measurement, for addressing knowledge deficiency issues. KM tools have also been adapted in libraries for managing knowledge sources and representation, storage, knowledge dissemination, and as tools for problem-solving. KM tools in libraries include the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC), repositories, social media, face-to-face interactions, and the 'Ask the Librarian' feature. Conclusion: The use of KM tools in organizations can be adjusted to meet specific needs and budgets. Libraries, in storing information, have utilized various forms of KM tools, allowing them to effectively and efficiently fulfill their role in managing the knowledge produced by the host institutions.
Zhafirah AzzahrawaaniAwalia Latifa Mayda Ikrimah

Background: Concerning archival services, local government agencies are responsible for managing archives within the regions. The Klaten Regency Government has adopted technology to produce innovation in public archives services, focusing on the management and preservation of archival records. To achieve this objective, the Titip Bandaku (Titip Berkas Arsip Digitalku) archival innovation program was established, facilitating the digital conversion of physical documents. However, in the implementation of program which has been running for approximately 5 years, the volume of digitized documents has not met the targets set by Library and Archives Services as the implementing government agency. Purpose: Therefore, This study aimed to examine the implementation of the Titip Bandaku program in protecting and preserving archives, identifying the obstacles included, and how the Klaten Regency Library and Archives Services addressed these challenges. Method: A qualitative-descriptive method was used to describe the implementation of the Titip Bandaku innovation based on the theory of innovation (State Administration Institute, 2017) with two dimensions of innovation namely output and outcome5. Data collection methods included observation, interviews, and documentation. The collected data further underwent stages of analysis through data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion. Result: The implementation of the Titip Bandaku Innovation Program positively impacted the preservation of community archives against disasters by digitizing records. On the Output indicator, program was a pioneering effort within Klaten Regency to protect archives in disaster-prone areas, offering swift and customized services despite capacity limitations. On the Outcome indicator, program improves the security of community archives, lowers transportation costs through a mobile services system, and shows sustainability with the backing of regulations, funding, and continuous enhancement of facilities and services. Conclusion: The Titip Bandaku program at the Klaten Regency Library and Archives Services did not achieve optimal functionality. Factors hindering progress included limited human resources, inadequate facilities and infrastructure, and the poor condition of some archives. To improve program’s effectiveness, several measures were recommended, such as forming a dedicated Titip Bandaku team, increasing public outreach through community activities, and fostering partnerships with relevant stakeholders.

Diana Ayu PuspitasariNabil Ikram

https://ejournal.ipdn.ac.id/IJOLIB/article/view/4507

Background: The rapid advancement of technology and information has necessitated libraries to transform respective services in order to remain relevant and effective. To achieve relevance and effectiveness, libraries must cultivate an organizational culture that supports necessary transformations, particularly in the field of library services. In particular, libraries that significantly support research have been found to continually innovate respect offerings with the sole purpose of providing information capable of facilitating the research process. Purpose: This research aimed to examine the support provided by the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) for the successful documentation of publications, with a specific focus on the evolving services offered by the library. Method: The research method used is qualitative research with a case study approach. Result:The BRIN Library offers a variety of services, including research consultation, information retrieval, bibliometric analysis, data visualization, literature review support, and plagiarism detection. In order to achieve the stated objective, a qualitative method was adopted with a case study approach to explore the phenomenon of knowledge-sharing in the context of library transformation as part of its organizational culture. Conclusion: The obtained results showed that knowledge-sharing activities at BRIN Library played a significant role in enhancing the expertise of librarians and improving the quality of research services. These services were observed to be facilitated through formal and informal programs, egalitarian leadership practices, as well as internal and external motivational strategies. It was also found that BRIN librarians actively contributed to research innovation in Indonesia by enabling access to critical information, promoting information literacy, and fostering collaboration among academics. Based on the findings, knowledge-sharing activities within libraries supporting research were inferred to lead to the cultivation of an organizational culture that promotes interdisciplinary and inter-institutional collaboration.
Mayang Rumaisha Nur FauziyahYustikasari Yustikasari

https://ejournal.ipdn.ac.id/IJOLIB/article/view/4664

Background: Nowadays, various analog collections like cassettes, vinyl records, and VCDs circulate broadly within society. However, despite technological advancements, few institutions—whether governmental or private—have undertaken the task of digital preservation, even though the information contained within these collections holds significant value for future generations. The safeguarding of collections in analog formats, including cassettes, VCDs, and vinyl records, is essential due to the wealth of information they hold for future generations. Thus, preservation efforts are undertaken as a proactive strategy to ensure that the valuable content within these collections remains accessible for an extended period ahead. Purpose: To examine the transformation of analog collections into digital formats through preservation activities. Method: The method used in this study is the Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Results: The findings indicate that numerous organizations, encompassing both private and public sectors, have engaged in efforts to convert analog collections, including CDs, VCDs, and vinyl records, into digital formats. This awareness underscores the significance of these initiatives, ensuring that the information contained within the collections remains accessible for future use. Conclusion: The items typically safeguarded include video cassettes, audio recordings, and vinyl records, with the preservation method involving digitization or conversion of media functionalities. The most extensively maintained microfiche collections, as these collections continue to be utilized by the Indonesian populace. There remain individuals who engage in the preservation process by hand, yet gradually, they have begun to incorporate contemporary technology.

Emir KhaddafiAudi Akbar
